Get to know our amazing adventure guides! The company is 600+ employees strong, with a dedicated team of specialists who focus on providing quality programming for adventure trips.

Our guides have a diverse skillset spanning geology, environmentalism, marine science, wilderness survival, and more. They all are trained in CPR and First Aid, as well as a number of preferred certifications which include:

Safety Record

We have an impeccable safety record. On the hundreds of trips we have conducted, no participant has ever sustained an injury that required an overnight hospital stay. Guides carry radios, phones, and first-aid kits during programs while participants are required to wear helmets, safety harnesses, and life jackets during adventure activities.

BRAD LUPIEN

President & CEO

Brad Lupien, President & CEO

Brad Lupien is President and CEO of arc. He earned his BA in Social Work from the University of Vermont and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Simmons College. Brad began his career as a teacher and social worker in the juvenile justice system and as a special education teacher in Boston, MA. He taught middle and high school young people identified as having “behavioral and emotional disabilities.” To address his student’s multiple risks, Brad began an after school Outdoor Education Club for his gang-involved students; he modeled the method after his experience serving as a summer guide for teens, leading month-long adventures in the Rocky Mountains. At arc, Brad is responsible for business development and new programs. He is also co-Founder and Chairman of the Board for CORE Educational Services. He serves as a board member of Interfaith Family, a member of the Learning In After School & Summer (LIAS) Executive Advisory, a member of the Region 11 Workforce Advisory Group, founding member of the youth Take Action Campaign, a Vistage (CE 3494) member, alumni representative of Leadership North County class of 2012, Action Team member for the new San Diego Education Synergy Project and also a playmate to his son, Jonah and daughter, Sydney, and a dedicated partner to his wife, Jessica.

Bob Lund, Director of Outdoor Education Operations

Growing up in Long Beach, Bob was fortunate to have had many opportunities to appreciate the outdoors from an early age. Because of his family’s frequent camping and off-roading trips as a child, he was well suited for taking on a variety of staff roles at summer camp including high adventure, aquatics, and in camp administration. His natural leadership abilities and affinity for outdoor adventures drew him to join the Boy Scouts at a young age and he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2001. Bob spent his career working with high schoolers with special needs and delivering exceptional enrichment programs to students of all abilities throughout the Pacific Southwest. Together with his family, Bob is eager to continue their adventures by exploring and appreciating the beauty of our country’s wonderful state and national parks up close.

JACKY SANDOVAL

Jacky Sandoval

Jacky is an LA native whose volunteering experience as a high school student made her realize that working with children is something that she is truly passionate about! She has been working with children for over 10 years. She has worked in the after school field as a P.E. coach and has been facilitating outdoor adventures for the last four years. Jacky has trained in outdoor survival for two summers which has inspired her to be in the outdoors every chance she gets. When she is not exploring the San Gabriel Mountains she is out looking for new spicy food to try. Her saying is, "The spicier, the better!"

ALEJANDRO MONROY

Alejandro Monroy

Alejandro is currently a student at the California State University-Northridge pursuing a degree in Tourism, Hospitality and Recreational Management. His passions include seeking new adventures with a good view, meeting new people and spending time outside with his dog. Alejandro is an avid hiker, backpacker, camper, snowboarder and climber, often introducing his friends, family and dog to exciting adventures.

Jordan Kartchner

Jordan is from the Pacific Northwest and Salt Lake City, Utah. As a boy scout for many years growing up, he spent all his free time outside camping, exploring, and adventuring. He has always loved danger-filled, fast-pace, extreme outdoor sports such as mountain biking and snowboarding. Currently, he is training to become a skydiving instructor.

Lindsey Hall

Lindsey (Linds) is an Adventure Coordinator for San Diego. She's happiest among the trees, under the stars, in the water, or on a rock. Naturally drawn to people and their developing brains, Linds studied Psychology in Oregon and Utah. As she continued to explore her love for outdoor activities, she found a passion that joins the two together - creating a safe and encouraging space for others to explore the wilderness and express themselves. If you haven't heard from her in days, it's likely she's off the grid somewhere backpacking, camping, or road tripping.

Tre Tucker

I’m from Compton, California and became a guide after working at Arc as an after school coordinator with high school students. I shifted from after school to adventure, where I now get to show students how fun it is to be outside. Also, I get to share what I personally like to do for fun, which includes hiking and camping, as well as filmmaking. I am always looking for new experiences when it comes to exploring the outdoors.

Aaron Tell

Born and raised in LA, I have been a camp counselor for about 10 years. My passion for working with kids and exploring the outdoors has led me to become a super enthusiastic adventure guide. When I’m not working with other guides leading camping, hiking, biking, and kayaking trips, you can find me playing basketball and video games with my friends.
